The Kids’ Sale – Because Kids are Expensive!

7 Oct

If you have children of ANY age, you surely know by now that keeping them in clothes, toys, age-appropriate supplies for school and other gear can be outrageously pricey. The average American family pays between $1,000-$4,000 PER MONTH on their children’s expenses ALONE.

I plan to do a lot of posts about child raising on the cheap, but this one is a really big deal in my local area. There is a consignment sale, happening several times yearly, called The Kids’ Sale. You can find the sale for about a week at a time, in designated areas in the tri-state. Today marks the kick-off of this season’s Ashland-area sale (closest location to me) in the KYOVA Mall in Ashland, KY. The sale will run from today, October 7th – Saturday, October 12th, and is open each day from 9AM-8PM.

If you have children, I strongly urge you to check this sale out. It features numerous clothing, accessory, toy and furniture items, along with miscellaneous items geared toward children, all gently used and in good condition. The prices are wonderful – especially compared to what you will find when purchasing many of these items brand new – and can add up to some big savings for Christmas shopping, belated back-to-school stocking up, or just filling your child’s drawers & closets with necessities.

Two suggestions for shopping the sale are as follows:

Shop Early – You’ll see the best selection, as items are not typically “restocked” after being purchased. First come, first served in most cases!

Shop Late – Shopping on the last day gives you access to great “end of sale” discounts, up to 50% off in many cases!

When you go obviously will depend on your shopping style and (more likely) your free time, but regardless of when you shop, I urge you to stop by & check this sale out! It won’t be back again for months, so act quickly!
